A great week for music!

I AM SO EXCITE I AM OVERFLOW.

Ahahaha so those of you that watched the opening ceremony will have seen FRANK FUCKING TURNER play. I'd heard rumours, but it was still amazing that he got to play in front of such a huge international audience. If you missed it:

Also since the Olympics have kicked off I keep hearing Muse's Survive everywhere and the song has grown on me a lot now! So I'm starting to look forward to The Second Law, since even if I hate it on the first listen it's likely to grow on me the same way that The Resistance did.

Next news, Stingin' Belle (a new Biffy Clyro track) will be played tonight on Zane Lowe's show some time after 7.30, and then the music video will be up for 24 hours for Team Biffy members from 9 (Source).

And lastly, I saw earlier on Tumblr that a new Frank Turner song will be unveiled Friday, which I thought was cool. Upon listening to the interview first hand (here) it became clear that it will actually be a song from his name-yet-to-be-revealed hardcore side-project. OH MY GODDDDD I hit excitement overload at that point and did a little jig and freaked out a bit.

And of course, there's the fabulousness to look forward to the rest of the year. In August I see Frank Turner and go to the Reading festival, and my vinyl copy of Emily Barker featuring Frank Turner Fields of June will be dispatched. September brings the new Muse album. In October I see Muse live. In November Emily Barker plays locally, although I haven't bought a ticket yet as I don't know if anyone will come with me. December I see Frank Turner again. And somewhere in there a double Biffy Clyro album will probably be released, and then a new Frank Turner album in 2013. Aaaand the mysterious side project will be releasing stuff and touring (apparently this Summer?!! But very hush-hush) and as soon as I find out more about it I'll be getting in on that action too \(^u^)/

Update:// Soooo Stingin' Belle is a pretty cool track as far as I can tell from one listen (BAGPIPES). I was a little disappointed with the video, Simon's moustache creeps me out haha. Double-album Opposites not out until January, but pre-order opens the same day the single is released, 17th September (the same day The Second Law comes out!).

Beloved Sweetheart Bastard: Photoshoot & the Longest Saturday Ever.

Long Saturday was long. Not at all helped by the fact that I slept for maybe 2 hours in the night due to a combination of beer, flipflop bottle openers, disturbing TV shows, Blackened Sky, nextdoor neighbours drunkenly singing the Polish national anthem at 3am, loud (yet adorbs) snoring, and other such things.

I gave up on sleeping at around 5am since there was already dazzling sunshine by then, and I didn't really feel tired. You'd think this would give me time to make myself look super awesome, but most of my belongings had already been moved back home so I had a naff outfit and no hair curlers or products so my hair ended up looking a mess Dx

I hadn't been sure about taking part in the photoshoot as I'm camera shy and totally inexperienced, but I really wanted to see my friends so I made myself go.

I actually had a really great time! Amber is an awesome photographer and I learned a lot from watching the others pose. I'll definitely go to another shoot in future, but I'll make sure to put together a better outfit and practise posing! Contacts would be good too as ergh horrid shadows on my face from my glasses!

My shirololita inspiration is forever Miss Havisham. I've yet to read Great Expectations, but for my GCSE English Havisham by Carol Ann Duffy was one of the poems we had to study and I absolutely adore it.

Beloved sweetheart bastard. Not a day since then
I haven’t wished him dead. Prayed for it
so hard I’ve dark green pebbles for eyes,
ropes on the back of my hands I could strangle with.

Spinster. I stink and remember. Whole days
in bed cawing Nooooo at the wall; the dress
yellowing, trembling if I open the wardrobe;
the slewed mirror, full-length, her, myself, who did this

to me? Puce curses that are sounds not words.
Some nights better, the lost body over me,
my fluent tongue in its mouth in its ear
then down till I suddenly bite awake. Love’s

hate behind a white veil; a red balloon bursting
in my face. Bang. I stabbed at a wedding-cake.
Give me a male corpse for a long slow honeymoon.
Don’t think it’s only the heart that b-b-b-breaks.

Aaaand a couple more shots =3

After the shoot was done we had a little picnic and then headed to the pub! I didn't want to leave, but I managed to drag myself away and get back to pack up the last of my things at around 6.45. The pint of Beesting was a definite help as it helped me forget my absolute foot agony from my shoes rubbing most of the skin from my feet. Damn my delicate and awkwardly sized/shaped feet! So a rather annoyed Rob came to pick me and my stuff up as I was supposed to have been ready for 5. Ooops. The rest of the night was pizza and Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged. But the day felt like a whole week!

So now I am officially moved out and have no city residence for a month as tenancies didn't overlap, which means I have little freedom for the next month or so. Thankfully I have lots of little bits planned that should keep me sane, provided I can find the money (and outfit inspiration)!

New Shelves!

I actually asked for a new bookshelf for Christmas, but we only just got one Dx

So I thought I'd share it!

Turns out I have a lot fewer books and things than I thought. However ideally I'd like to get a CD case so I can put all my CDs in one place (these are only the ones I've acquired over the last year or so), and then move all my books from my crappy old case into this one eventually. Definitely considering moving my manga as they're all stuffed into my old case scruffily! Ahaha okay I was in the middle of writing this and mum just got home with a CD shelving unit for me, hells yeah.

Records, CDs, Pocket Pikachu, Sailor Moon cards, Book of Clow, Pokémon annual, notebooks.

Books! Novels on top and other on bottom.

Japanese magazines (Kera, Gothic & Lolita Bible, Fruits, Popteen, Egg), textbooks (Psychology and Neurobiology).

And all this leaves my old crappy shelf to be a toy shelf! I have no idea how to arrange my stuff though, or whether to debox my ponies and dolls or not ^_^' Definitely open to ideas! Also since my records are out now, my dad finally knows that I collect them and he had to show off his collection.

Much more impressive than mine, but he has been collecting them for 30 years or so! Also it turns out he owns one Muse album on vinyl...the ONE albums of theirs I don't own. Lucky!

Hmm I guess now I have to put this CD thingy together and then move all my stuff AGAIN!! Don't know whether to alphabetise my CDs and books or whether to put them in order of how likely I am to use them...
